Info on COA says matching but get a Targa engine on a coupé ?

    Greetings,

Helping a friend here, got the the COA for a MY 2.2 E (Build date is 1969) in hands with the VIN, of course, and the engine number.
According to the Porsche Guide book states the engine SN is a Targa but the VIN is a K-coupé.

    Any idea ?

    Cheers
    X

There is no such thing as a "Coupe engine" or a "Targa engine".
For each model type there were a few engine options. So, for a 911E you would have a choice of a 911E type engine for standard or Sportomatic transmission. Either engine could be installed in a Coupe, Targa or Karmann Coupe.
