SWB rear deck-lid grill rubber strips

    Hi,

I am in the process of mounting the rear grill on my deck-lid. The factory used 4 I believe rubber strips about 1 cm wide between the grill and the deck lid. I have misplaced mine, so am hoping that someone might be able to tell me the total length of them and whether they had a hole in them for the grill studs.

    many thanks,

    JK

I have four originals set aside for 65 resto, but am traveling thru Wednesday. If no one responds I'll dig them out and provide dimensions when I get back.....

    Under grille spacer

I'm not sure about the rubber version of the under grille spacers - but as a comparison the 1964 version was a injected plastic piece that looks like this:
(These were found on the 20 mm tall grilles on the early cars). I would guess the fitted 15mm grille (spring 1965 > ) to have a spacer close to this perch size - m14 x 202 or 12 x 200. Lets see what the measure is.

Hi Bob, thanks a lot for the pointer. Boy, I guess I should be happy in some way that I do not have a real early car. I would probably be tearing my head out right now on how to duplicate the strips shown in your picture. Actually, if someone out there is looking to have this piece made I would know of a good place to check with. He is a 356 guy who does amazing work and owns a injection molding company.
