    Vent window fitment issue

I put in a different vent window and replaced the seals and felt on my drivers door. The vent glass is uneven along the back edge. Is there a solution other than repositioning the pivot point on the frame? Moving the bottom bracket doesn’t help much at the top of the vent window.

The back edge of the glass has to line up with the back edge of that chrome channel.

I have struggled with this gasket replacement many times. As Ed writes above, the rear edge of the glass must be plumb with the chrome channel. The only way I know to achieve this (given what you have pictured) is to rotate the pivot (rearward). Before you replaced the gasket you noticed the hole for the pivot is substantially larger than it would seem to need be. You also noticed, and replaced the "cup" spacer that goes in this assembly and allows the pivot to be moved for adjustment. You need to move it toward the rear which will move the top 1/3 of the glass toward (and more parallel) with the vertical chrome channel. To the extent you can, you might also try to gain adjustment of the rotating pin at the bottom of the frame. Moving this a bit forward will move the bottom rear of your glass away from the channel. Together, you will have a perfectly fit, non leaking vent glass that will not bind when you operate it.
