To my inexperienced eyes the Porsche classic muffler looks authentic enough, wat am I missing? (Do I really want to know -- once you see it it can't be unseen...)

Hello frederik , to my experienced eyes the Porsche Classic muffler looks very authentic , you are not missing anything . And good to read you are happy with the sound , I also think there is no comparison to the Dansk .

I am referring to the mufflers used on early? Swb cars. Those are quite distinctly different in construction compared to the Porsche classic muffler

See attached pictures. As you can see the early mufflers had an additional "shield" around them similar to whats sees on 356 mufflers. The Porsche classic muffler does not have this. There are also other small differences.

Ditto. Sounds good and "adult like". You can converse in the car.

Turns out I was wrong. While my Bischoff is not original to my car (dated 10/73), it does appear to be correct for my car, showing part 911.025.00.

The poor tailpipe fit appears to have been from poor collision repair of the left bumper.

P91127.00600 = carbon steel "non stainless" but the photos on the iND site are made using the CAD design so they appear to look like an SS system. Eisenmann Germany wanted to make sure that the system not only looked 100% factory but the sound had to be exact.
hi Eisenmann, do you happen to have comparisons (build, drawings internals, etc.) and / or comparison measurements (sound / HP performance) with the early Bischoff / Leistritz (or any other) mufflers? thnx.
