    FS: 901 ZD gear set

ZD gear set for sale. I just put the same in my car and I'm quite happy. Not quite an overdrive, but really brought the RPM's down.

This was the tallest gear Porsche made for the 901.

    $200

What's the 4th you're running and how drastic is the drop between gears?

I'm actually not sure what 4th is, but I'm guessing it's an S. The transaxle is from a 912, so the gearing was all out of whack, especially running a 2.7L.... I can say in 5th I went from 4200 around 75mph to 3100. The drop doesn't feel as dramatic as you'd think because they're plenty of torque there.

    It's a nice cruiser now.

Nice. If it's a 912 tranny then you're right it was likely A F M S X. I have the same set up but I changed the 5th gear to ZA (if memory serves). It's a nice smooth transition from 4th and an adequate drop in rpm from the X gear. Congrats on the sale and enjoy the 'box you've got now!
