    Muffler Identification

    So what do I have here? I was only able to find this mark on this part. Where would the Leistritz Marking located at? Is Leistritz Original equipment to the '65 & early '66 911?

    Uneducated on Muffler Originality, looking for Knowledge. Thank You for your input. (this came off of my 1965 built 1966).

    Yes, I did not see anything to the left. Any farther over starts to get into some heavy corrosion. It is possible that it could be aftermarket with the 901/01 stamped on it?

    I will clean it some more.... thanks.

    I Will dig the original muffler of my december '65 coupe out tomorrow and take some pictures

    Only stamped marking found on my muffler, it's located in the center.

    Here is a photo from my May ‘65 911. It’s in the same location. Even though the OP photo doesn’t have the manufacturer, the number font looks the same.
