Blinking light on new to me 75 Carrera

    Just a question, I recently purchased a 75 Carrera.
At the top of the oil pressure gauge is a blinking red light that only goes out when the key is turned
    off.
Its not described in the owners manual.
    Thanks, John

That is the E brake warning light. Fiddle with the E brake lever, you are not getting it all the way to the floor.

when this happened on my 1973.5 it turned out to be a failed brake cylinder switch. I was able to diagnose it by unplugging the connector from the brake cylinder.

Not sure if it is the same in 1975 but the Brake cylinder switch and hand brake switch share a common circuit.

Have you checked and adjusted the switch on the E brake lever?

    Ciao

Pull the wire connector on the master cylinder to see if the blinking light stops. If so, it is a bad switch.

Glad you found the problem. The switch is not expensive and easy to change.
