    ‘69 sport seats

Trying to gather data on transition from ‘68 style sport seats to the 70/71 style.

Please post VIN and which type of seat the car is equipped with. Obviously sport seats need to be listed on Kardex.

    Thanks.

I'm hijacking your thread a bit on a related topic, but my old car coupe 119300761 produced in Feb 69 for US market was optioned with these seats by the original owner but not delivered with them in May 69. There was some interesting paperwork from factory/VoA in the records saying that the seats did not meet US DOT safety requirements at the time of build so they were summarily dropped from the build on the assembly line.

Tangentally related, the first car I have documentation on with the 69-71 sport seats is 119300819, built a few weeks after my car...
That's not to say my documentation is extensive as the first RoW car surely had to be delivered with these seats much earlier, but an interesting sidebar nonetheless.

I'd be curious to see the first car listed with these options (9236/37 corduroy, 9240/41 leather) in other's records.
    ESR calling Jules...

BTW, I don't think any MY69s had the 68 style sport seats, so I am curious why you are asking the question

    Bryce,
    Thanks for input.

Why do I ask? Because I seem to remember seeing a fairly early, original ‘69 with ‘68 style seats.

Frank, I cannot contribute to this Porsche specific topic, but the posche 68 style was the general aftermarket seat until 73.
So when you bought an Idealsitz from recaro you got what a 68 seat is in Porsche Terms.
