    Rubber relay base installation - How?

    OK 911 Gurus;

    I am restoring my beloved '72, and have sent out, and got back a whole new overhauled harness from the guy in Europe.
    It came out pretty good, but now I need to reinstall the rubber sockets that take the round electrical relays near the fuse boxes.
    Is there a magic tool that makes this easy? I tried something pointed, and then something round and flat, but cannot get the pointed rubber end to drop (snap?) in to the metal holder, and I am afraid I am going to break them.

    Any suggestions ??

    Thanks,

    Stu

    Hi Stuart, Its the same as removal, heating them up (a little) with a heat gun helps a lot, some soap will also help ! Brgds Gerard.

    Heat is indeed your friend (together with the mentioned soap, WD40 or silicone paste) and it works miracles for putting the front and rear lamp harnesses back into the body as well.
