early 1967 front bumper guards rubber?

i have a USA 1967 911.

It currently has chrome front and rear bumper guards.

I assume chrome was standard in 1966, and rubber covered guards were standard in 1967?

would it be possible that my early 1967 (july 1966 build) came out of the factory with a remaining set of 1966 all chrome bumper guards?

Pretty sure only the 'S' had the rubber covered ones. Normal 911 had all chrome.

Hmm. The guards on my '67 Normal are rubber-covered, and the Kardex shows it that way. The word "gummipuffern" is almost so descriptive as to not require translation. The COA for that car only mentions "bumper horns".

I've also owned several '67 912s, at least two of which had rubber-covered guards that appeared to be original. I had no Kardex for those cars but, as with the 911, the COAs did mention "bumper horns".

Same here. That is, my 67 Normal and both of my 67 912s (all USA cars, but the 912s are Karmann) had rubber-covered guards from new.
