    1968 911 L dashboard trim

    Hi All,

I'm restoring a european delivered 1968 911 L. According to the Kardex the car came with beige leatherette and pepita.
I don't have any remains of the door panels or other interior pieces of leatherette.
The only thing I have is the dashboard trim which is covered in black elephant hide.
Was the dash deco black when the rest of the interior is beige?
And what color were the door panels and what was their structure? Beige elephant hide? Black basket weave? Is there a source for new 1968 door panels?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

The dash panel was always black regardless of interior color. If your dash is elephant hide so was your interior so you had beige elephant hide door panels which are rare and not available as far as I know.

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

Thank you Joe. That's what I thought (and feared). We'll have to come with some solution that will be a close match.
I'll post a picture here once we have the panels ready.
