    wire harnass protection sleeve 1972-1973

Am looking for the number and/or manufacturer of the wire harness protection sleeve, situated tunnel-out into the engine bay. I can't seem to find a number in the parts manual. Anyone?

I don't believe it is available as a separate part - and may never had been. I think some on the Forum have had luck using a bicycle inner-tube which very closely if not perfectly replicates what was there.

ha, yes, I thought about the bicycle tube. But wanted to see what would be "original". Doubt the Germans used bicycle inner tubes at the time... :-)

It's not a separate part, it came with the outsourced wire harness, just like the poly vinyl sleeving. Try a European supplier like Wurth, which is where we get the poly vinyl sleeving from.

Try Kroon Harnesses, they are right down the street from you, since they make harnesses they must have a source.

McMaster Carr has thin walled rubber tubing that is virtually identical......cycle inner tube will go away in a few months. Been there, tried that.

I understood the sleeve for the pre-69 starter cable could be an alternative: 901.611.923.00 . Any experience? Is this rubber?
