FS: 1969 Ossi Blue 912 coupe

69 Ossi Blue 912 Coupe nr. 129021049. 4 speed, original blaupunkt, cocomats. Number matching car.

Originally a Southern California car (records locate original owner in Downey) numbers matching Engine built by Ken Daugherty in mid 00s with big bore kit and full flow oil filter. Has original 061 distributor and solexes both remanufactured by Don Marks at same time. Has about 20k miles on rebuilt engine.

Runs great, car really rips with recent tune up (valve adjust, points gap, proper timing at 33* at 3000 rpm, retuned, throttle adjusted to full throttle, throttle bushings replaced, clutch adjustment, oil change, exhaust gaskets replaced (no leaks). Stock muffler.

In early 00s had full repaint and front pan and floor replacement, with new carpet and suspension. Has plastic dash cover, original dash beneath has typical age and cracks. Has flat 6 Fuchs.

Comes with partial tool kit (some wrenches, breaker, Klein flathead screwdriver), 69 owners manual (but not the maintenance booklet), original lackstift touchup paint, copy of coe and some records going back to the early 70s

Blue is well loved, and a cherished member of the family. I am not the owner but helping the owner and family find a new owner. Clear Indiana title.

Thanks! It's a well done paint job that's brilliance and shine comes out with ease. It has a few chips on the nose and a few touch up spots, but over all excellent paint. I will try to get closer shots of some of the little things like that. Oh and that crest is original too. its a great honest little car. It's not a concourse car perfect, but it is excellent and has all of the right original details and pieces in place where it matters most. You can drive it with out guilt and turn heads all the same.

The owner (a very long time friend) has Alzheimers and tried to hold on to it as long as he could despite giving up his license a few years ago. I am helping he and his wife sell it. It had some deferred maintenance (until i got a hold of it), and the last guy who he had work on it was a vw guy who was clueless.. I couldn't get it past 80 when i picked it up. Was timed way wrong, points gap was a mile wide. The jets were way too fat, and the throttle was too sloppy.

I spent most of my limited free time this spring and summer fixing the little things and getting it right to sell. For me it was a labor of love. I fixed an oil leak, replaced exhaust gaskets and fixed an exhaust leak, changed oil, adjusted valves, set the points and timing, fixed vacuum leaks, took about an inch of slop out of the throttle linkage (has full throttle now), replaced throttle bushings at the bell crank and in the tunnel, clutch adjustment and then rejetted the carbs, retuned the carbs, reattached the door pockets, and gave it a little shine (didnt really need it, but i felt like it deserved it). It's such a fun car now that it breathes properly and tuned right. Runs like a 912 actually should.

Yes Peter, May we all hope to have friends like Harry who take care of us in our time of need, and more importantly may we be those to others in their time(s) of need. I’m sure this will sell quickly.
