    Partsklassik CDI and 73S Tach

Any reason that a Partsclassik CDI box wouldn't play well with a 1/73 dated tach for my '73S. Tach works when tested on the bench and has 12V, and and a tach signal. Although I have not looked on a scope at that signal yet, it does register on an AC or DC range voltmeter.

I know there are various iterations of Porsche tachs that seem to care about the pulldown resistor in the OEM CDI box. But is that an issue for the Partsklassik box?

What does Partsklassik say about the problem?

Yes it is a 3 pin CDI. I thought I'd ask here while the speedo operation was being verified and it did test out fine, so I will follow up with Partsklassik if no one has suggestions and will post anything learned here.

I have a June / July built 73E and have the Partsklassik CDI in it and have had no issues with the Tach- also from time to time I have swapped the original CDI back in and out with no apparent impact on the Tach - So it may be your CDI has a particular problem but it should work fine

Thanks for this. It should work based on everything I have read in their manual. I’ll have to look at the wiring carefully and see what is going on.
