    Engine Mounts?

I have seen these three types of engine mounts that I believe were all used for 911's between '65-'89. Can someone tell me when the switch was made from the bottom type to the middle type and then to the top type?

Which type is correct fro my '70E project? As best I know, only the top type is available new.

The middle one is early, thru the long hoods or longer, distinguished by the hour glass steel insert. The top one is late with straight steel insert. There was a soft version and a Club Sport of this one, 07 or a blue paint mark for the CS. The bottom one not sure maybe 912E, of mid 70’s, an attempt to reduce vibration.

Hey Tom, I have this version of #2, got them in a sale trade for some 912 mounts I had, not sure on the chromate / zinc plating, they were to have come from Stoddard's yrs ago, they look like what came off my 71 when I put Wevo mounts on it several yrs ago. was thinking about putting them on a early 912 Targa with the solid engine bar and 911 trans beam but may still go with the Wevo soft mounts as I did on the early 66 912 coupe.
Let me know if interested, you should have my email.

    Best Regards

Edit: pulled out the mounts from the 71, appears they used to be painted black as well as the washers, drop me a note if interested.

    Regards

Thanks for the offer but I just finished stripping the plating and painting a brand new set I purchased a while back.

None are exactly correct. 68’s were flat on the edges of the perimeter, no little turn up.

For those who have proper original mounts you’re much better off retaining your base and transplanting the rubber and bushing from a new mount. Just make sure it’s not a URO. Those are now vulcanized to the base and there’s no way to harvest the bushing without ruining it.
