push button door release 1966 911

    Hello,

I lent my car to a friend and it seems that the driver's door release has disappeared. The release button, the grommet, I can't seem them anymore, and hope they are somewhere inside the door panel. Has anybody experienced this and is it easily fixable?

    Many thanks,

    Best,

    Thomas

    Many thanks Moito,

I'm hoping the button is inside, as well as the outer ring, as I can only see a hole at the end of the armrest.

I purchased a pair of grommets from Eric Soterik in case it broke. I'm hoping I don't have to remove the door panel etc....

    Will keep you posted!

I don't think there's any way the door release button could fall down inside the door as it's pretty much encapsulated in the armrest. It could, however, have become disconnected and fallen out of the front of the armrest. Remove the plastic cover below the armrest and see if it's in there. If not, look under the carpets and the seat...or anywhere your friend parked the car and opened the door.
