    FUCHS/ATS wheel rims

Ahead of my next big overland adventure (Southern Africa 2020) in my '69S, I am looking to have another set of wheels and tyres fitted.

Currently running 6Jx15 FUCHS (as standard on the '69S) and planning to fit 6Jx15 (ATS) cookie cutters with Michelin Latitude tyres to better handle the terrain.

What is the correct part number for the 6J x 15 ATS cookie cutters for a '69S so I can ensure the new wheels will fit.

    With thanks, Andy

I think the part number is 911.361.023.40 for silver lacquered. Looks like a different silver finish might be 911.361.23.93.

Part number isn't critical though. Other than paint finish, all 6" cookie cutters are the same.

69 911s never came with Cookie Cutters. They first appeared on a 911 in 1973. I'm confused by your statement about wheels "to better handle the terrain". Fuchs alloys are much sturdier and less prone to damage than Cookie Cutters. Why not just use what you already have?

    Regards

    Jim
PS: If you insist on using Cookie Cutters, any 6" Cookie Cutter with have the same offset as your Fuchs wheels.

Thanks Jim. It is more about buying a different set of tyres than currently fitted to handle the corrugations on the unsealed roads. I still have a good set of tarmac tyres on my FUCHS so rather than keep taking tyres on and off the FUCHS I thinking of a spare set of wheels. Cookie cutters cheaper than FUCHS. I am aware cookie cutters were never fitted as original equipment to a 69S! Hope this clear. Andy

The set I am looking at have these markings:
    GKAISI12MG
    PTL2001
Assume from what you saying, these are irrelevant as all 6 inch cookie cookers are the same and will fit my car.
    Correct?

Does anyone have a picture of the inside flange of the correct cookie cutter? I have 2 different 6J x 15 rims in my garage. One has an inner flange with a shallow rebate around the hub hole, the other is completely flat.

    Thanks, Andy

There was a change to hub centric wheels and hubs, I think in 74. This corresponds to the change from 3 clip to ring type center caps. Late hub centric wheels (bigger hole) will work fine on early hubs but not the reverse. I think that is the difference between the two you have pictured. Bottom line is for your 69 either will work.
