Thread: Flares.....

If its to be a 3.0rs darren, get some one to tap/beat in the flat part in the front arch wheel profile as per originals, hard to see from pics if its there. Are they bens arches.
    Great project,especially the rear tail!
I have found better grip from the 3.0 tail over the ducktail, but lost 2mph over the line at shelsly walsh, thinking of trying the bigger rsr rear tail if you find one on your travels. My theory on the rubber lip tails,is that the rubber deflects flat at high speed,ie over 100mph,which could lose the drag created and get my 2mph back, dont sound alot but critticle for me.

Paul, these aren't Ben's, he no longer has any arches and will not be producing any more due to the high increase in production costs on a small run.

These flares come from my good friend Marek Lappock who reliably informs me these are the best around and as good as they get, I've read other specialist also quoting that they're the best they've seen.
Obviously these are RSR flares so the fronts need to chopped to the bumper line.......hard to tell with the flares just stuck on with tape and without paint, also angles and light in photos make it hard to compare although I've overlaid photos of other cars on top of my images and the shape is cock on! I'm very pleased .....

    Cheers,

The white and red and white and gold front arches look correctmaybe the blue one, hard to tell with the colour.
I will mark a pic tomorow of what i am on about, the 3rs has a flat section in the profile on the front arches, ask steve kevlin at club house he supervised the rhd rs being delivered to customers at afn/reading.

The trailing edge of the flair on the white and red car does not look correct it's too squared off in the lower corner.

    Darren,

I think the flares look very authentic...congrats on finding a good source. Not many flares applied today really capture the true look of the RSRs of the 70s. These flares were factory flares from the day....

    Indeed.
Where is it possible to find such flares in Europe?

    Carpoint in Germany has them:

No idea if their dimensions are correct or what basis they used. No affiliation, but I have bought their RSR anti-roll bar kit previously and that was great!

    Thank you.
I will forward to someone I know who is converting a Carrera 3.0 into a RS 3.0.
