Question for members in Germany- TUV

I was wondering if someone was to furnish a old license plate number to the TUV if they would provide the chassis number that matches up to it.

I very much doubt it, all of the EU has been beset by the GDPR, rules on data use and it’s impossible to get information now. As an example, our local museum has stopped supplying a visitors book for fear persons data would be stolen.

I believe the GDPR was also one of the reasons Porsche stopped doing the COA.

That's a bummer, I bet someone out there has "connections".

    Hallo Rick,

I do not think this is possible for license plate numbers from the 60s or 70s; even police connections will fail.

Exception: The owner of the car drove the license number until the younger past.

So, the information they have, but nobody will get it out of them correct?

And is there a way to have confirmation of a pair VIN/Registration if we provide it, for a car of the 80's?
I even have the delivery date of the car.

Hi Rick TÜV has no horse in that race.
I also don't think that this data ist stored for more than two years after the car has been scrapped or sold and got a new plate.
What I know is that data between KFZ-Brief Number and VIN is stored at the KBA (Kraftfahrt Bundesamt) for a long (or very long) period.
Regional Reg.-Numbers seem rather volatile and they won't provide any info.
    Cheers
    Uli
