Looks like I spoke too soon! Pete and his team have taken pity on me and I'm in! Can't wait and I'm much appreciative.

Good to hear. I trust there was no pity, as it sounds like a special car. My not-so-pristine PTS Impact Bumper car was well received at the Rare Shades #3, so I trust your car will be as well. Really fun time. Laid back, and much more enjoyable than many of the Porsche get-togethers. Pete Stout is quite the host.

Be sure to post some pics.

Thank you. Was a shameless plug of my car, but I loved it the minute I saw it for the first time!

Just updated the information page re: Saturday's 914 50th display as well as the panelists—to include Alan Johnson, our own Glenn Stazak, and designer Hans Lapine (yes, the son of...). There will be a few more interesting characters in the front row with a mic, and I am hoping there will be time for Q&As. Some pretty cool cars coming, as well.

Rare Shades 4 and the 914 display will be open to the public and free of charge, while the panel discussion will be open to 000 subscribers—and even then I am a bit worried about space. Hope to see many of you there, and there is still time to register your long-hood 911 in an original, period-cool color if you haven't already!

Anyone driving their cars, from San Diego or know anyone who is, to attend Rare Shades?

There's a group making arrangements over on 914world.com (which is free to join, and a sickness all its own...sort of like this site), and a certain ex-Le Mans driver is among them. I suspect they'd let a 911 join them?
