    Never really thought about it. On the car since I bought it in 1985. And again, they're chrome plastic, not black plastic.

    Porsche started making replacement chrome horn grilles out of plastic back in the 90s. The only way to get real metal ones back then was to buy repops from Tasker.

    Intriguing! I bought my car in 1985. Maybe they started making the plastic ones in the '80's?

    My recollection of dates is a bit fuzzy. It would make sense that plastic started in the early to mid 80s
