Great time and hospitality! Lucky in my timing for their monthly car show. Awesome roads to drive on too (right hand drive though!)
Interesting fact was that New Zealand was only allocated two cars per year so I took 10 years for the first 10 to be imported; I bought a book on them and it was fascinating. 17 are still here!
A few photos from the Auckland Caffeine & Classics (aka Cars & Coffee) rower mentioned. A very enjoyable few hours chatting about early 911s! LC911 is our only remaining RHD RS.

Wonderful country, probably the cleanest most beautiful country on the earth. Great food. Great people and a huge car culture down there. I think they like American cars more than we do over here. I’m very biased because I have citizenship there, luckily I think I’m right calling it one of the best places. I went to the “Leadfoot Festival” last year and had a blast. Camped close to the event in a luxury camp. Got to drive my old 72 911 that was shipped down the year before.
My friend Mark is down there, on this board as NZVW. Great guy to have a beer with in Auckland.
Pictures of my camp last February....
Thanks for posting. A white with blue RHD RS long time owned in NZ is back in the UK where it first started. (Suspect folks here know PO & it: 0920; Ian Nott I believe.) Originally sold new by official Porsche Ferrari Aston Martin dealer Ian Anthony Ltd near Manchester up the north west of the UK. See car and current owner from time to time e.g. often at Goodwood events.

Mark, you are absolutely right - the love for American cars in NZ is crazy. Bigger than any other car culture here. We have two annual events - the Beach Hop and the Kumeu Hotrod Show - both 2 day events. The beach township where the Beach Hop http://www.beachhop.co.nz/ is held (Whangamata) is swamped with American cars - as far as the eye can see! The Kumeu Hotrod Festival https://www.kumeuhotrodfestival.co.nz/ is held within an 84 acre show ground - same thing!
And Leadfoot is a blast!!!! Many members here will know the name Rod Millen of Pike Peak fame. https://www.leadfootfestival.com/
It’s NZ’s mini-version of Goodwood Festival Of Speed’s driveway sprint.
Steve, the ex-Ian Nott RS was our second and only other RHD RS. Ian owned it for many years and the original NZ owner was Phil Harris - a long-time member of this board - who imported it from the UK back in the 80’s.

There were parking lots full of American muscle cars. I was reliving my high school years! The only car that annoyed me was one of those trans am kit cars from the tv show.
Everyone was super friendly too.
One of only about a handful of RHD RS that were sold via that particular dealership on UK . I'm in touch with the general manager of dealership who sold my earlier but similar M472 RS new. In fact all of them. He gave me a number of original things. RS no 920 was first road registered towards the beginning of June 73 getting a personal plate not an L suffix 72/3 dated licence plate..
