Like the body-colored wheels. IMO --- gives these cars just the 'right' vibe . . .

    . . . best way to 'get' these cars? . . .

    . . . park one next to a Tri-Five Chevy

BtW --- all the cars in NCM are described as fully-restored . . . no 'projects' . . . every car done

    . . . a British take on 50s sports cars

Never driven one o' these. A pretty car from some angles --- especially the back. Pretty plush-looking interior

Interesting to compare this to the Speedie --- or the Merc . . . all contemporaries

    . . . more Jag

Sure-sure --- a pretty car . . . but the proportions always looked 'off' to me

Little too long, little too narrow

I know Porsche builds stuff like this 'cause they can --- and I'm sure this thing is WAAAAaaay past fast

But whenever I look back at their Speedsters and early 911s, I mean, jeeeeeeez --- talk about your $10(>$300?)k hammer . . .

    . . . and I can't even get a stick with this?

A lot of private museums are being created for tax purposes.

    . . . Corvette Grand Sport --- replica

Not exactly good-looking --- but the original cars were really something . . . =<2000 lbs, ~550 hp 377 cid alu small-block, 175 mph. Destroyed the Cobras, but abandoned by GM after just 5 cars were built. Point made

The Replicas are available from Superformance with a variety of options (AC, electric windows, etc) and any motor you wanna terrify yourself with --- LS7, anyone? . . .

    . . . 427 S/C Cobra . . .

These cars were actually failures when they were new. Shelby built a feeeew too many competition-spec cars (note the missing glove-box) that he could actually sell, so --- he just hung some bumpers + turn-signals on 'em, sold 'em as street cars . . . some sitting as much as two years before moving on . . . + at a discount. Leaving on the scoops + hoops + porno side-pipes ended-up being the way most Owners like to see their cars now

    Go figure
