Precise One Handed Valve Adjustment in One Minute 10 Sec.

For anyone who desires a precise valve adjustment to the required 0.10 mm spec without guess work or the "feel" required by a feeler gauge -- or the rotation out of spec caused by tightening the OEM jam nut, you might be interested in SNAPGAP. https://snapgap.us/

While there is typically no need to adjust valves using one hand, unlike all other methods, it can be done with SNAPGAP in hard to reach spots (intake #6).

For those of you in Southern California who are going to Coffee and Cars at Rolling Hills Estates on Saturday, I will be there with some SNAPGAP kits and can answer questions. I will be driving a black 2015 Cayman S and wearing a blue SNAPGAP cap.

    Neat tool.
I assume it's a good idea to shove a rag in there when readjusting in case the shim drops out.
Are the shims magnetic? Mr. Butterfingers here.

Thanks David. The shims are shaped to "hang" on the adjustment screw so that they have to actually be pulled off in order to remove them for another adjustment. They also are not magnetic in and of themselves but they are made of a stainless steel that is attracted to a magnet. Here is a picture of the "bumps" on the shim that fit around the adjustment screw.

    Hope that helps.
