.i knew about the fact that early cars don`t have the cover but never did my homework to determine when it was introduced... should be a rather easy task since the shape of the steering rack housing was adapted to the new feature..have about 20 early racks and they all have date codes and serial#.

    Question about trailing arms

    Hello members,

The 300090 has trailing arms with the following casting number:
    901 331 511 02 / 901.331.511.02 / 90133151102
I have picture of only one side:

    Name: 300090-trailingArms-01.jpg
Views: 480
Size: 92.9 KB

I think they are not correct for my car because they have the sway bar mount / ball.

Do you know the year / model of these trailing arms?

So, I am looking for a pair of correct trailing arms for the 300090 but I don’t know how to recognize them.

For example a friend of mine has two pairs with this casting numbers:
    Pair #1: 901 331 215 12 / 901 331 216 12
    Pair #2: 901 331 215 1R / 901 331 216 1R

Would one of these pair be correct for my car?
Again, do you know the year / model of these trailing arms?

    Thanks for your help
    Philippe

if i remember correctly the hole pattern or size/shape of the oval hole, where the spring plate is mounted is a bit different on early cars...#96 had a damaged trailing arm that i replaced ..i still should have this arm somewhere...will look for it asap

Franz is correct. Smaller hole for the M12 bolt and unique casting number.

    Trailing arms: additional information

    Thank you Franz and Richard.

Some additional info: the left and right trailing arms I have have the same casting number: 90133151102

I made some searches and found trailing arm with same casting number on eBay:
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/154826186517
The seller indicates: "Off a 1967 Porsche 911"
Note: this trailing arms on eBay do not have the sway bar mount ball.

Here is a possible scenario in my opinion:

As you know the 300090 has 911 S 1967 rear brake calipers:
    See this post:
    https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...=1#post1153577

I think a previous owner replaced the original rear axle on my car with a 1967 S rear axle : trailing arms + the brake calipers.

What do you think about this assumption?

Anyway I need the correct trailing arms for my car.

    Thanks,
    Philippe

Following are some pictures of the trailing arms I have on the 300090:

Since the correct arms are probably hen’s teeth, remove the sway bar pin.

If you don't already know, nylock nuts were not used. Looks like the sway bar pins were welded in later in life, doesn't look factory done.
