    correct color for 1966 front fender bolts?

    would there be overspray on the front fender bolts of 1966?

    trying to replicate the factory in my restoration.

    No , unlike the LWB cars the early cars were painted with the fenders off .

    Richy, weren't the fender bolts then painted black along with the trunk.

    Yes, painted black as shown by Franz. Otherside of the fender was thickly tarred to prevent water from entering the seam. Fun job to do

    Is the same claim made for the vertical run of 6mm hex head bolts? I have had two 1967 cars, neither of which had the fenders off, and neither of which had "thickly tarred" application at the outside of the horizontal "K" speed screws. Both were Karmann cars, so maybe that accounts for the absence of the tarred shelf and screw protrusions.

    I should have been more specific , yes the bolts are painted black and do not have any body color overspray on them .

    And paint them sloppy if you want to match the factory.
