    In The Background

I always enjoy inspecting factory photos and looking at all the tools and environment back in the day. Lately I have been curious about the bins used at the factory. They look to be a drawer that is removable and transported around the shop. They look to come in a few sizes. I am wondering if anyone know of the manufacturer or any info about these? Possibly, some of our European friends may know? I am guessing it is a standard industrial cabinet company.

These are quite classical bins that can be attached to a support rail, either on a wall or on a cart. They were originally metal, now are plastic.

    Brad,

That type of metal bin was common at Porsche. Yes, they used a few different sizes, and were often stacked. Schäfer was one brand you see in factory photos.

What about the "GK"? Would that be the initials of the mechanic or for instance department?

    Hi Richard,

I was wondering that as well. Looks to be a solvent tank. Could be GK is a label for solvent?

    Thanks,
