    steering damper

Early steering racks had a steering damper, and later ones did not. What's your experience, are they worth using if your rack has the mounts?

As best I can work out, if you upgrade your early rod ends to 930 type the damper can no longer bolt up.

I believe Elephant Racing sells a 930 style end that bolts up to/matches a SWB higher ratio rack.

I have a 356 damper on the shelf and wonder if simply modifying one end would make it work. Any thoughts?

If the dampers were worth using then Porsche would have kept using them...
