I’ve been trying to persuade my wife to move to Portugal for several years. I’ll turn up my efforts and try to join you. Wish me luck.

Darn. I just shipped back two cars from Germany though.

    Maybe I’d bring an RS.

I've booked a hotel in Dornbirn for the night 17th to 18th Sept and two nights from 18th to 20th Sept in Merano today.
This means I'll do the trip no matter whether I'm alone or we're 30 cars.
If you'll book anything I'd recommend to look for something with the possibility to cancel without fees up to a reasonable point in time.
If I find the time I'll test drive the tours and look for Restaurants for lunch/snack and dinner along the route once snow has melted in june/july probably with a friend in two (pretty long) days.

As this is the weekend after Goodwood revival it might be attractive as a larger tour to visit goodwood and then drive to the alps. Leave goodwood on sunday - stay in Belgium on Monday - Nürburgring to Baden Baden on Tuesday - Baden Baden Black Forest to Dornbirn on Wednesday, then 4 Days Austria and Italy

Uli, would there be time for a Porsche museum visit.? Seems it's only one hour from Baden Baden.

Yes that's no problem, just skip Baden Baden and drive a bit further east.
You could stay in Stuttgart. From Stuttgart to Dornbirn is not that far. Dornbirn has a great Rolls Royce Museum that's worth the visit too.
