    The "also ran" cars may (WILL) attempt to pile on. This is as good as it gets deserving the result.

    Not as good as it gets. I sold my willow green 914-6 for $175,000 a few years ago. It was absolutely as if NOS in condition. First paint, low miles, amazing condition.

    I won’t interpret that as sarcastic; if it makes you feel better I paid a record price for it too when I bought it. The best typically doesn’t go through auctions.
