I don't recall seeing a "806.10" that came off of a 70/71 914/4. I thought all of those were "805.10". The beat goes on.

"Was going to use this on a (July) 1970 Porsche 914-6. From my research I'm guessing this wheel would be correct for a 914-6 based on the numbers. The seller stated that it came off of an old 914-6 using the attached plastic collar that is pictured. The collar doesn't seem right to me and I'm not sure what it's for, definitely won't work on my Six. Without the collar, the wheel fit perfectly."

That wheel was never on a 914/6 with the "collar" on the back. That is strictly 914/4 stuff.

    Regards

I have never seen a 72 914/6, just a couple of 916s. The 72 914/6, reportedly, uses a later style 914/4 wheel and steering column with a part number ending with a .11 (the "non-flat hub)

Hi Jim, No in fact neither do I. You've seen a LOT more of these and you told me back in the day that these 805 10s would directly fit a 911 by removing the collar. Thanks !....I've probably bought and sold a couple dozen of these 805 10s with those "914" collars but NEVER had an 806 10 version. But this one does look legit. Thanks !

Please confirm (on your honor, cross your heart and hope to die ) That ALL the photos in your post are from the same wheel? That is that after you took the collar off you found the 806.10? Were the four screws easy to remove? Thanks.

Hi Allen, all photos are of the same wheel. Taking the collar off, there were two counter sunk screw holes and four (non-countersunk) threaded holes. Here’s the link.

    Needing better steerng,

I thought to look in the on-line PET (if someone has the picture parts book that is better as it is contemporaneous) for the 914. I found some interesting info.
For 1970 we have the 914 347 803 10 (hard rubber-this is the wheel that was later wrapped and came on the RSR leather covered) And 914 347 806 10 !
    For "bis. Mod-71" we still have the 914 347 803 10 AND 914 347 805 10
    For "ab Mod 72) we have 914 347 805 11 (leather, 914-6); 914 347 804 11 (hard rubber) and 914 347 809 00 (Foam) thanks.
