    Another "What is this ........"

    Was working on the 73 the other day and noticed this slit. Unfamiliar with its use? Anybody?

    1. i think it could be a drain.

    2. but what i really think it is, is a slot, so the factory can put hooks thru it, and hoist it around.
    it allows the hood the hang...quite easily.

    3. a slot to drop into a fixture...to allow the two pieces to come together and be welded.

    4. and quite possibly a slot, for a hood stick, to delete the weight of the hood struts, on R cars or rally with heavy hood lights....and allow the stick to locate and stay there.
