Recaro GT Steel "Ferrari" bucket seat

I consider selling my Recaro GT Steel bucket seat (also called "Ferrari" seat).
Rare seat and first listet in the 356B parts catalog and also offered for the '65-'66 911/912 before the Recaro Plastic seats came i '67. I do not know much about this seat other than information on the thread here on this forum (see link below or search for Recaro Ferrari).
I belive Cord section is original but side bolsters and carpet on back have been renewed some time. Side bolsters are much thicker than other I have seen on pictures of and have to be redone to be correct. There is also a hole in the lower part of cord but steel bucket looks great. I have opened bolster on one side to check condition.

Given the rarity of this seat I offer this for $5000 but could take a SWB Recaro four legged Plastic seat or a SWB Sportssitz (both seats of interest in any condition) in a trade. Also 2.0 aluminium case engine/case or a 7R from '67-68 could be of interest in a trade.

I also have a '66 Scheel seat which would be a great partner to this seat in an early pre '67 car which I ask $2000 for.

Please send me an email (not pm) on kjelltbrekka@gmail.com for more info and pictures. Seat will be shipped from Norway.

I'm interested in this seat pending verification it is a 911 GT seat. PM sent.

Can you please check the seat you have for sale against the information in this thread. Primarily looking to know whether the legs splay outward and what the spacing is between bolt holes.

    Thanks,

Is there angle iron on the seat base? I don't remember that. I don't have my car at home to check mine. I'll check the first of the week.

John the angle iron is an add on. It looks to me this is a Speedster seat set up to work on a 911. The GT seats I have come across and currently have for 356 and 911 have the seat back center carry over and down the back into the carpeted area about 4 inches or so. This seat does not have that feature and has the carpet trimmed in this area as a Speedster. The seat back also does not seam to have the squared shoulders as a GT seat would have. Very nice seat I just think you have to look closer to confirm if it is 356GT. Does not look wide enough to be 911 hence the base mods.

    Thanks for your input guys!

I have measured the distance between fastening holes under and they are little over 16" c/c (front). It has a steel base and from the trim I would guess it is a 356B/C sportsseat, but GT was aluminium, I will check my 356B parts catalog again tonight.

So as a conclusion it is not a seat for 911/912.

356GT seats can be steel. 911 versions are steel.

Here are some additional pictures of seat and frame. Frame fits directly in my 67 912 so has been used in a 900-series car but looks like frame has been modified because of the more narrow track on seat.

Bump with a new price, $4000 for the Recaro 356GT steel seat. $5000 included the 1966 Scheel. Or trade against other early Recaro or Fuchs or 2.0 engine parts!
