    1973 salespersons' tech overview?

Seems like I've seen pictures of a PCNA document for the tech changes for 1973. It was aimed at salespeople so that they could be knowledgable about the new models. In particular, I recall it saying the return of the oil tank to behind the wheel was prompted by new side impact protection rules. Does anyone have a link to this document?

I know of the Service Information Booklets, but I thought they were more mechanic oriented, not sales.

I recall this as more of a letter, not a booklet. I can't recall where I saw it, and apparently did not make a copy for myself.

Very cool to read this. I think the whole 'gas station attendants filling the oil tank with petrol' thing is a bit of an urban myth. It might have happened a few times, but you would need to be pretty dim to first remove the dip stick saying OIL before you can put the filler nozzle in without realizing what's going on.

Yes, and also the need to open the right door to find the release button. The pump jockeys could not have mis-fueled without help from the owner. I've never bought into that explanation for changing back to the old tank location.

    Thanks for posting, Karim!!

There were so called Rest of world English versions of the 73 service information with some contents different to the NA versions in English as models vary by country and region. I have all variants in English. And German language. Not looked at the oil relocation point.

Also got information from a launch meeting for all UK dealers that does give his British market cars vary as C16 EG standard from the less well specced equivalents in some other markets.

Plus another rarity intrigung itenerary for a British dealer jolly to Austria including costs flights logistics etc lists attended including many of dealer principals who have name to outlets. It doesn't mention oil relocation. It does give an insight into what the principals of Porsche retail network got into. When I was growing up we were friends with local Ford main dealer and their jollies in tbat era were fun.

Also Porsche Great Britain press release for model year similar to P+A had three pages. Pretty rare. Doesn't mention oil location relocation but is very high level for press snippet use.

While not specifically in this it may be in the catch-all comment on safety at point 2) ...to the OP point:
