    Two distributor questions

    Guys,

    1. Can I substitute distributor 0 231 184 006 (JFUD6) and use it in place of 0 231 169 009 (JFUD6) in my 73 2.7 MFI 8.5 C/R 911?

    2. Is there a source to cross reference Porsche part number for distributors to the equivalent Bosch distributor number?

    Thanks,
    Caproader

    73 2.7 MFI

73 S with sportomatic I gave away (to my son)

For the last 20 years I kept my stock 0 232 169 010 (late 2.4S) distributor in my 2.7RS+ rebuild with no problem ...

    Hope this helps,

Thanks Chuck, The 0 231 169 009 currently installed in a 911/62 (originally sporto) case has a stuck advance/retard and the shaft feels a bit wobbly. So I have what appears to be a 3 liter Carrera distributor on the shelf that seems to have a lot less wear. Rather than rebuild the 169, I am wondering if any one can tell me what happens if I drop the 3 liter distributor into the engine.

    Thanks

    John
