Engine lid was 12,6 pounds now 10. More drilling and Dremel cleanup needed still. More tightening up of the hand formed (dont try this at home) louvers needed too but they're getting nice and smooth.

The steel longhood will be PITA to lighten but I have to try to lighten it a bit. They weigh 38 lbs iirc.

I'm hoping along with looking badass my large louvers actually lower intake temperatures.

That’s a very fine lid.....lightening to an extreme required supreme commitment on your part.
Think your missing one drill hole on the PS....just kidding
    Great work !
Looking forward to rest of the build

Thanks, actually it still needs work and a few more speed holes then the structural pieces which were in the way, lightened and welded back into to lid.

I'm working on the steel short hood now that will be converted to long hood.

I reduced the steel trunk lid by about 4,5 pounds removing the thick PVC removed over 2 pounds. I went for perfect speed hole symmetry.

If you have a compressor this is good. There are a variety of "cutters" depending on the job.

I've seen those but just use a grinder wire wheel bc it's easier to buy replacement wheels.

Some low hanging fruit. I'm focused on there being symmetry with the drilling but the hinges have different arms left to right.

Real steel for 2020. I finished shaping the front formerly turbo fenders. I'm now backdating them and the steel trunk lid. Notice I didn't say frunk.

I'm digging the ST being all steel, still going for lightness though.

    I've started the twin plug.

    Thank you.
I shaped them with hammer and shot bag, then I wheeled them.

Backdating the fenders. These are process pics, over the weekend it'll fit really well.

Thank you, doing my best. Dialing in the ST fenders and quarters. These were turbo fenders which are cheap to buy.
