Going cost of NOS Bosch LWB tail light housings and Bosch Euro black trim lens

    As the title is asking....

What would a pair of NOS Bosch LWB tail light housings and black trim Euro lens cost if you can find them?

I've got a line on a set, and I'm wondering what a fair offer or purchase price would be?
Thanks for your thoughts and help.

They would look like this....Name: tlight.jpg

That'd be a VERY good deal for both the housings and the lenses NOS. I'd say you're doing fine at anything under $1,500. I just bought some NOS housings (no lenses) at $400 each from another member and thought that was a very fair price.

Agreed. Reproduction lenses are a constantly moving target and getting to be a bitch so if you find a good deal on good originals I recommend grabbing them. After way too much time checking with way too many vendors in the past couple weeks I think I have a handle on what’s currently available. I’ll do a short write up in the Technical Forum soon.

Hint: Price and quality are not always related.

Just my little bit of checking is the following:

    NOS LWB housing $550
    NOS Bosch Euro lens $400

If true, a full set for the rear could cost you up to $1900 it seems.
Seems like these are harder and harder to find, so I'll just sit on this set I'm getting for some future project.
At the very least, it's a good investment as the prices will likely never come down.
If I end up not needing them, likely someone here would be interested in them in the future.

This is wandering a bit but my experience is that it’s much easier to find LWB rear housings than front housings. I have a mountain of rears and very few fronts.

so true...i was kind of shocked when i saw the ones porsche is selling for big bucks...side note on the taillight housings....there is a difference that might be of importance...the position of the drain hole changed in 73(if i remember correctly) and this can cause some problemas.

Rears get little wear v fronts so there are tons of very good used ones out there that will cleanup fine. And value of cars declining will impact parts too. Nobody sane is going to spend $150K to create a $125K car.

I disagree. Literally every single person I know is doing exactly that!

    Totally agree with LFNY.....
Besides the cost of original and NOS parts , the best builders, restorers and materials keep rising as well.
They are typically very busy and have a backlog for new work .
Engine machine work, parts, assembly , and correct details and can run $15-$30k especially for accurate MFI S engines.

Just because there may be a modest swing downward in prices...... none of the listed items needed for Restoration are going down and they shouldn’t.
