    Installing a 911 engine in a 912 is a fairly invasive maneuver. If you are looking to return your 912 to a "numbers matching" car, there is only one practical way to do that. Sell your 911 engined 912 and buy a "numbers matching" 912. You may even come out money ahead.

    I agree with you Jim but finding another 1968 912 Targa with hardly any rust and for the reasonable amount I paid for my car is highly remote. Besides I am not after a comlete numbers matching car but just a correct 1968 912 4 cylinder engine. Cheers!
