Looking at the slide lock again, I’m thinking it’s BMW as I said. It’s not a homemade tilt bracket, looks aftermarket, maybe even Recaro but as has been said, not the Porsche console and I’m pretty certain your seat is the optional BMW seat. Nearly identical to Porsche except the chrome recliner and I’ve heard a wider mount for the upper slide rails.

I second that it looks like the BMW sport seat which was a factory option on the 2002tii

hi nick, as some have written before: your console and the rails are for bmw 02 thought - so fit on Porsche 911 not.

Incidentally, this bmw console is quite popular with 02 drivers - so I would not mess around with it and sell it better and then install an original recaro 911 or if it must be cheap just the repro part of carpoint.

the headrest is not scheel as written here but recaro and also belongs to this seat. has probably deceived some in the picture, because you have inclined them.

    greeting

Nick, if you’re only mounting a drivers seat, you might want to consider selling this BMW seat with the console to an 02 enthusiast and then funnel those funds into a proper console and 70/71 Porsche trimmed seat more appropriate for your Ess. Perforated bolsters are the shizzle!

Also don’t sweat some of the remarks. None of us know “everything” about these cars though some would claim otherwise. The beauty of this forum is that “truth will out” eventually.

It is an extremely rare option on the 2002 model BMW but it doesn't command the price of the 911 sport seat, but I'm sure there's a BMW enthusiast looking for a pair of these seats

I am only aware of the BMW 2002 Turbo models with the sports seats at least in the USA. They don't have the chrome as shown in the photos below and the tilt lever is built into the seat back. If proven otherwise, I'd love a set of original BMW 2002 sport seats. I call dibs!

yes, the 02 turbo had exactly these seats that you have shown. manufacturer was not then recaro but the company rentrop. for the smaller 02 bmw there were the recaro ideal seats as well as in the Porsche 911. greeting

The earlier 2002 BMW sport seat by Recaro look like this, much like the early 911 sport seat. The 2002 turbo seats are much later seat.

he bmw seats with the three screws per fitting (two at the top - one at the bottom) are late constructions from recaro. the change was made so that the otherwise largely unchanged sports seat could be mounted without a console for folding. Thus he was screwed directly to the "series" rails on the vehicle floor. However, the seat will always hinge on both sides. greeting
