Thread: Marelli Re-build Kit

  1. #1

    Question Marelli Re-build Kit

    Given the rising cost & scarcity a of a Bosch compatible distributor for a 2.2L (1970) engine;
    is the re-build kit offered by "Partsklassik" for a Marelli S112BX a viable alternative?
    Does anyone have any experience with this kit?

    I have searched for the 'normally recommended' Bosch substitute but am facing a rather large
    purchase price of a used unit which will not include added costs of shipping, refurbishment
    & possibly any machining necessary for the conversion.

    I also face a double whammy in that I pay in 'canuck bucks' plus the usual
    ridiculous shipping & tax charges we incur north of the 49th. The Marelli I
    currently have seems in reasonable & re-buildable condition & the kit in
    question may/should suffice.

    Any advice or recommendations will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    Cheers
    JB

    Contact PartsKlassik. They can rebuild yours, send you a replacement or send you the Kit. Now that they have made replacement parts available for Marelli distributors, they are a very viable alternative. They really arent an "alternative", though. They are what the car came with.
