    '65 interior question

I am looking for an original interior that is anything but black. Mine is fawn and I would like to confirm the color of the bar that goes across the parcel shelf. Does it match the panel caps/garnish rails in black or the seats and panels in fawn?

    Dear Dave,

what might be your exteriour color code?
As far as I remember most of the time the garnish rails had been in contrast.
The parcel shelf rail 901 555 093 20 was mostly in the colors of the other rails.

So, if you have black rails above your fawn - very nice btw - then this would be black, too.
But matching colors guard rail sets were also existing.

Actually, mine is said to be, brown leather! Here are some photos. The front seats are leather & back seats & the side panel is vinyl. Original to the car. cliff

Thanks to both Cliff and Dave. The sample I was sent is clearly brown. I expected it to be closer to Dave’s picture.

The Photo in Dave's post is from my 65 911. I am doing a ground up restoration and because the front seats had been covered by the previous owner in a different material, I decided to source new vinyl and reupholster everything. It was a hard decision to make but that's what I did. I'll post a photo tomorrow comparing the two. This is a very difficult color to match to the original

Here's the original on bottom, replacement on top sourced from Autos International. Since I couldn't get seats in basket weave, I'm going with hounds-tooth inserts. All going in Bali Blue 65 911
