FS: Rare Date Matching 1973 Fuchs Fully Restored (1973 Carrera RS)

Very hard to find with matching year and month. These Fuchs wheels measure 15″ in diameter and 6″ in width and were refinished this year. Each wheel has anodized spokes that are flush with the rim profile, while the centers and backs are finished in black. Additional photos detail visible part numbers, dimension stampings, and 1973 production dates. Part number 911.361.020.10 is shown for each of the four wheels. The final two digits read “10” and indicate later production, which featured a flat-dish construction. Each wheel bears an 8/73 date stamp, indicating 1973 production. Dimension stamping 6Jx15 is shown on the inside spoke of each wheel, and the offset is 36mm. These wheels are compatible with a 1973 carrera rs lightweight front wheels, 911/930 : 1965-89, 912 : 1965-69. Price is $5000 USD. Located in NY but can ship anywhere. Message me at 917-971-5144 for further information and photos. Thanks

Those wheels are not correct for a 73 Carrera, or a 73 year model car at all. They are for a 74 YM car and use “ring type” center caps. Proper 73 wheels use “3 prong center caps” and usually have 72 date stamps. They are nice wheels, though.

    Regards

hi JIm, can you elaborate more on the "Proper 73 wheels usually have 72 date stamps." ? Am trying to identify the correct Fuchs date for my April '73 S.

Sorry, not trying to hijack the thread.

Proper wheels for 1973 production year would have part number 911 361 020 00 dated 7/73 and lower and accept the 3 prongs center cap.

Yes, thanks. That info is known; my interest is about what dates (months) are supposed to be correct for a March produced car. Does anyone know from experience what wheel date code was on original cars (I'd think Carrera RS could be a good indication, as these are typically well documented, but there are many well documented original S's on this Forum). I can understand, this "leadtime" between date of production of the Fuchs wheels and the date of production of the car would differ, but I'd think there would be a bandwidth of number of months (say between 1 to 3 months before car production date). But since I have no clue and can't seem to find any info about this, thought of posting this Thread. Who knows?!
