Charcoal canister vs windshield washer tank

    Hi all,

I'm trying to restore a '70 911E. When I purchased the car, the windshield washer tank and charcoal canister was missing. After finding the pieces and go to install them, they charcoal canister hits the windshield washer tank. If I rotate it 90 degrees, the hoses would hit the battery. Can some tell me what is wrong with this setup. The other threaded hole pictured is for the battery strap (I think).

    Thanks

    Chris

Looks like the car had a front crash and the battery holder/tank Support was replaced with a later 74-89 repair panel

I think you are correct. When I was repairing some of the sheet metal, it appeared that the panel was new. So is the connection for the charcoal canister the only one that is incorrect or are there other differences?

    Thanks

    Chris

You need to find a car and measure the correct hole location for the canister bracket or have someone take a picture with measurements , the hole you are using is incorrect .

The top is a Dansk replacement panel (incorrect for 70), the bottom is the Restoration design panel (correct), the orange piece is the best part of my old panel, 70T, note bolt locations. Name: 100_2589.jpg
