    Wiper woes

I am having trouble trying to get my wipers to park on the left in my 1970 LHD car. I am certain i have the original wiper rack with my car.
Could this be something to do with the wiring or relay. ? Tearing my hair out on this one.

    Thanks in advance

There is a shaft that comes right off the wiper motor, it has a taper spline just like the wiper arms. Remove it and basically reinstall 180 degrees opposite how it came off. It will take a little trial and error to get correct, but that's where the change is made.

Thanks Ed. I had read about this but i am certain i have the original rack, so should park on the left. Is there any chance it could be the relay / wiring on this quirky 69 - 70 system. ?

if you mix em up you will scratch your head. ask me how i know.

can`t help you how to solve that..i gave up and asked a friend who is into car electric,he solved it.

and there was something with a loose ground cable

    Hi Dave,
Did you solve your problem? I am about to try to fix the same issue on my LHD 70T.

Wipers?? Who needs wipers on a 70?? Apply some Rainex just in case and park them forever.

or keep them off entirely which I have done on my 72 hot rod...such a clean look..Rainex as you mention does a better job than wipers anyway

    Hi Paul,

not sorted as yet. I will park them then move the linkage arm. Apparently that sorts out the problem.

Well, if you live in the UK, you really need wipers

Mine used to park on the right. I moved them then reset the linkage which could have been when my issue started. That was several years ago, but i’ll try it again. Alternatively it could be a dirty or broken wiper stalk
