I am not excited by the Taycan. I think the Tesla performance editions are just a better car especially with the range and the price. Having a p85d I know what it like on longer trips to charge it and how important the supercharger network is.

big fan of elon musk . i can`t say much about e-vehicles...sat and drove in a model x and it was a cool experience but when it comes to manufacturing quality tesla looses this point by far.

Maybe. My S has been quite good though spartan. What’s amazing about electric is it’s high torque single speed so you push the throttle down and it GOES. Same on highway - no downshifting and lots of noise and no action. DoNot mess with a performance Tesla!

I’m not a new car guy but I prefer to drive electric to anything else new including my bmw’s

My passion lies in vintage cars which I prefer above all else.

Well, I’ve had a Tesla S for 4 years now and no quality control issues. (Except the door handles which they replaced free at my house that week!)

My two BMW 335’s each had injector, fuel pump and water pump failures which left me stranded on the highway three times in dangerous situations. My Mercedes 500e awd wagon was horrible and once going into drive put me into reverse. Transmission failure.

The last new Porsche I bought as a daily was a 993 twin turbo and that was indeed quite reliable and very tight. But it was a 1996!

So I am not going to completely agree with your point!

Incidentally, the twin motor AWD Tesla is a fabulous AWD as it can sense slip and reallocate power immediately so the traction is amazing. No mechanical linkage needed.

we are comparing tesla vs tycan.. not bimmas or gas burners with tesla...right? how are the door gaps on your tesla

They are good. I think in the initial first 6 months on all of their new models they were variable

But the overall driving package is superior to any gas model I have driven or rented. And it’s no comparison. Electric is just dominant.

Im not a Tesla fanboy by any means. I would have loved to buy Porsche’s electric model - and wanted to - but not until they get a long distance recharging network in place. Until you have an electric car it’s hard to realize how important that is to using the car to travel.

I might get a Macan though to replace a Bmw.
