Among the earliest versions of the VP frame are the red-on-whites. Only seen a handful of these --- which, from their top rockers, would date back to VP's original location in Manhattan Beach . . . = produced/issued before '67?

Disagree with what? Every authentic MB frame is chrome. Including the ones in that link.

V1 MB frames are chrome with black paint/chrome letters and "linen" corners.
V2 MB frames are chrome with white paint/red letters and "linen" corners"
V3 MB frames are chrome with white paint/red letters and "woven" corners.
V4 MB frames are chrome with black paint/chrome letters and "woven" corners.

There are some sub-varieties with these varieties but this is a good place to start.

LongRanger has a "pretty good" collection of frames. His knowledge of them is also quite extensive.

He happened to pull this out of his bag of tricks a few years ago. It's the dealer that sold my car new. Long gone and before
    Audi ever showed up.

    Thanks again, Rick.

    Sorry-sorry --- but your comments @post #6 didn't mention anything about paint . . . hence, etc

    Thank you for the clarification

I want a Carl Block Transport frame from Oakland. Anyone?

And I’ll probably sell my competition motors one. I sold the car it came with.
