Did any 911 have less than 5 gauges? Prototypes excepted. 912's had 3 with 4 & 5 optional. I believe the 912 went to 5 for 1967 model year.

I thought it was just the first 2 or 3 prototypes... I was reading the other day (somewhere) that the first show car had 3 gauges and a 356 wheel etc., but that the dash was changed out very soon after and replaced with a 5 gauge... I don't think any series production cars had anything but 5...
If I can recall where I was reading this I'll update...

I too thought the 3 gauge cars only pertained to 912’s, and at that ceased with the ‘65 model year. Our April ‘65 build 912 was a 3 gauge and I don’t think I’ve seen a ‘66 3 gauge car.
