    Fs: 1965 911 vin 301946

Metal work recently completed on a Porsche Factory Cellette Jig (at a cost of $21,000 US)
Car drove into shop where metal work was done. The car was originally Irish Green (was never flared or had the color changed)
Original engine and tranny (please do not ask me for these #s unless you want to purchase the car) and all parts for the car are with the car.
I will have a Kardex for this car later today
I am helping the owner market / sell this car

The known missing items are: SolexCarbs & Air Filter housing, Wood Steering Wheel
Car will be sold with the body panels, suspension, steering, wheels, fuel tank, tranny and engine bolted in place. All misc items (seats, interior etc. will be packed in the car.

Yep. I assume this is one of a series of 6606 code cars, and a 66 model year car.

Oh Grasshopper, How wrong you are!
The car is a '65 as I stated
    The paint code is 6404
The '66 cars VINs start around 302250

So Irish green is 6406 or 6606; 6404 is light ivory. Please provide a photo of the paint badge. Do you have a photo of the dash before it was disassembled?

So 6404 fits with the data that I had, and would make it a 65, however, 301945 IS a 66, and 302250 is way too late

I would REALLY like to get a photo of that paint badge as documentation. Perhaps 301945 was wrong. This is critically important for the 65-66 transition discussion. Would like to get the Kardex also. You can email me directly.

Is it not very likely that paint tags went from 64 numbers to 66 numbers as each number tag ran out? Bahama yellow or Aga Blue would be a 66 color no matter what since they were new for 66. An Irish green car such as this could have had a 64 tag after a Bahama yellow car build date if the bin still had 64 tags left. Of course this theory goes out the window if the tag was all stamped at once.
