    Damn. What a loss

Peart wrote most of the lyrics, on top of mastering his monster drum set which defined most of their music.

Listen to a recording of The Trees live sometime and get a feel for this man's talent if you are unfamiliar with the band.

A few of my favs. This is just a taste...there are so many more that just rock! Back in the day I sent my Vu meters into the far end of their ranges many, many times enjoying Rush

Technically above the rest. Time signatures etc. etc.

We'll never hear Tom Sawyer "live" again. I watched a couple of videos of it this afternoon. Live and original video. Gave me the chills.

RIP Neil Pert. I wish I'd met you.

In 1976 I bought the Destroyer album and started playing the drums because of Peter Criss. In 1981 I bought the Moving Pictures album and kept playing the drums because of Neil Peart. Talk to any drummer who played professionally in the 80's and 90's and every single one of them will tell you that Neil is the drummer they most wanted to be (and every single one of us failed).

RIP. There will never be another like him.

Took my son to see them (Neil really) in 2013 on their Clockwork Angels tour in Kansas City. Glad I did, for SO many reasons.
    RIP Neil.
