Weird problem with turn signals on '69E

If you signal left everything is fine. However, if you lift the turn signal stalk to signal, right, the right arrow in the gauge is perfect, but the left arrow in the gauge simultaneously flashes in very rapid bursts. Occurs with or without the engine running. The outside corner bulbs flash as they should at all times. WTF? thanx steve

Just to confirm - signal bulb both front and rear at all corners are working correctly? I ask because usually this rapid bursts indicates an out or malfunctioning bulb at one 'corner'.

i'll go out there and re-confirm that the corners are OK. thanx. s

Having the same (similar) problem on my 73. Left blinker works normally. Right blinker flashes normally for about one blink on the gauge, then both arrows flash. Blinkers on outside of the car work normally. I was told it was an issue with the flasher relay, but really haven’t investigated further as it is just a minor irritation.
Look forward to hearing the solution...

If you are using LEDs for the tel tale lights on the gauge, change them to ordinary bulbs.
